This Privacy Policy explains how your information is collected, used, retained, and protected when you use the NutriSnap mobile application and website (trynutrisnap.com).

We collect information to provide visual food analysis and personalized nutrition tracking:

• Account Information: Email address, user identifier, and authentication credentials.
• Physical & Health Metrics: User-provided height, weight, age, biological sex, activity level, and dietary preferences. Used exclusively to compute Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) and personalized macro goals.
• Food Images & Nutritional Logs: Meal photos, volumetric analysis outputs, and timestamped food logs.
• Health App Data (Optional): Steps and active energy synced with Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android) when explicitly authorized.
• Purchase Information: In-app purchase receipts, token balances, and subscription entitlement status managed via Apple StoreKit, Google Play Billing, or RevenueCat.
• Device & Diagnostics Data: Device identifier and basic app diagnostics to prevent fraud, maintain session state, and ensure app stability.

3. Apple Health & Google Health Connect Compliance

We respect the sensitive nature of your health and fitness data:

• Data accessed from Apple Health or Google Health Connect (such as daily step counts) is used strictly to provide in-app health and activity insights.
• We never sell, rent, or disclose your health data to third-party data brokers, advertising networks, or data mining platforms.
• Health data is never used for marketing, advertising, or promotional purposes.

4. Generative AI & Food Image Analysis

NutriSnap utilizes advanced vision artificial intelligence (Google Gemini Flash) to estimate food volumetrics, macro breakdown, and recipe suggestions:

• Food photos and text prompts are transmitted securely via encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) to AI inference endpoints.
• Your private food images and health logs are not used to train public generative AI foundational models without your explicit consent.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We partner with trusted infrastructure and service providers operating under strict privacy agreements:

• Google Firebase: Secure cloud authentication, database hosting (Firestore), and cloud functions.
• RevenueCat: In-app subscription receipt validation and entitlement management.
• Google AdMob: Privacy-compliant advertisements for free-tier users, adhering to App Tracking Transparency (iOS) and Google Play Ad policies.

6. Data Retention Policy

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, deliver core application services, and comply with legal obligations:

• User Profile & Account Data: Your account profile, biometric measurements, and macro targets are retained for the lifetime of your active account to enable continuous dietary tracking and historical health trend visualization.
• Food Logs & Meal Photos: Uploaded food images and calculated nutritional logs are retained in your private, authenticated account until you delete the individual log entry or delete your account. Transient AI analysis tokens and temporary inference buffers are discarded immediately following image processing.
• Health Connect / Apple Health Metrics: Synced activity metrics (e.g., daily step counts) are retained only while your account is active and permissions remain granted. If permissions are revoked or your account is deleted, all synced health records are immediately deleted from active storage.
• Application Diagnostics & Telemetry: Anonymized crash logs, error traces, and diagnostic telemetry are retained for a maximum duration of ninety (90) days to diagnose app performance and maintain system security, after which they are permanently and automatically purged.
• Inactive Accounts: Accounts that remain completely inactive for twenty-four (24) consecutive months are scheduled for automatic data anonymization or permanent deletion after prior email notification.
• Backup Retention: When you delete your data or account, active production databases are updated immediately. Residual copies residing in encrypted disaster-recovery system backups are permanently overwritten and purged within thirty (30) days.

7. Account Deletion & User Data Rights

You maintain full ownership and control over your personal data at all times:

• In-App Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your entire account and all associated food logs, meal plans, photos, and profile records at any time directly inside the app by navigating to Profile → Account Settings → Delete Account. This triggers immediate and irreversible deletion of your data from our active databases and authentication systems.
• Web & Email Deletion Requests: You may also submit a complete data deletion request at any time by emailing noreply@trynutrisnap.com from your registered email address. All deletion requests are processed and verified within forty-eight (48) hours.
• Data Portability & Access: You have the right to request a copy of all personal nutritional data stored in your account by contacting support.

NutriSnap is a dietary tracking and wellness tool designed for educational and informational purposes only. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider or registered dietitian before beginning any new diet or fitness regimen.
